News From the Farm

Hello From Owasso Tree & Berry Farm;

Our 2008 Blackberry season has ended. I hope you were one of our blackberry pickers to enjoy one of our best crops ever. Berries were really big, and supplies seemed limitedless.

We now have 3 varieties of blackberry plants in one gallon containers for sale. The 3 varieties we have chosen to propagate have been the farms' favorite for the past sevyeral years:

CHICKASAW: Thorny Erect
High yielding with large cylindrical fruit. 7-10 grams in size. Firm sweet berries. Good upright growth. Disease resistant. Mid-season (approx. June 15th)

KIOWA: Thorny Erect
Kiowa produces the largest berry of all the releases from the University of Arkansas. Known to get up to 13 grams in size. Mid-late season (approx. June 15-July 1). Plants produce 4-6 weeks. High yielding cultivar with storage and handling potential. Among the best of Thorny varieties.

OUACHITA: Thornless Erect
High yielding, excellent fruit quality and flavor. Large sweet fruit. Mid-season (Approx. June 15)
Spacing for these varieties should be 3 foot in the row. Price is $7.95 each.

We should have a supply of plants available for fall (Oct-Nov) planting.

For additional information or questions, we can be reached at (918) 272-9445.

If you aren't already on our E-mail list, and you would like to hear from us at blackberry picking time, or at Christmas, your e-mail address, and we will add you to our address book.
